Hormone Replacement

Pharmacy Image(3).jpg

Since 1996, Oakdell Pharmacy has made it not only a goal, but a significant part of who we are to help men and women find answers to their hormone imbalances with treatment options. To help achieve this goal, we created the Oakdell Pharmacy Wellness Center at our Medical Center Location.

The purpose of the Wellness Center is to educate patients and practitioners about different treatment options as it relates to hormone replacement therapy.

At the Wellness Center you will find private one on one consultations with our clinical pharmacist, who is a Bio-Intentical Hormone Replacement Specialist. Our Wellness Center will provide you with resources to achieve the best clinical outcomes. Call to speak to our Wellness Coordinator to see how bio-identical hormone replacement therapy can benefit you.

Here are some examples of what you will find at the Wellness Center:

1. Education

Educational materials and books that cover a variety of health topics including natural compounded hormones, nutritional supplements, diet, and nutrition are available for purchase.

2. Testing Hormones (Saliva and/or Blood)

Saliva:

The gold standard for BHRT topical cream users. Saliva kits can be purchased without a prescription. Testing is performed in the privacy of your own home. Call us today to find out more about which hormones can be tested.

Labwork

You can have your blood work done from your physician’s office or a lab. The following labs are required: estradiol, progesterone, testosterone (Total and Free), DHEA-Sulfate, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Cortisol - AM Fasting, Insulin, 25- hydroxyl Vitamin D and Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (PPO), (CRP)

3. Consultation

After test results are received, patients will receive a one-hour extensive personal consultation with our clinical pharmacist, who specializes in Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Our pharmacist will thoroughly discuss your labs and review your medical history. Treatment options will be discussed, and a recommendation will be sent to your physician.

4. Custom Compounding

We will collaborate with your physician to customize a prescription to fit your needs. Once we receive your prescription, we will custom compound your medication at our medical center location using natural hormones, that is hormones that are identical in chemical structure to your own (referred to as Bio-identical hormones).

5. Vitamin Supplements may be recommended.

6. Dietary recommendations may also be recommended.

7. Follow-up Care
